I have completed day 84 of a 70 day turning program. Fuck me, it hurts. It's got steadily worse with the pain this last week and there's a real crease at the ankle which looks rather nasty.
The program made a 1 millimetre move every day. Now, a millimetre may not seem like a lot but when you consider that every millimetre of bone moving turned into steel moving through skin and muscles, it's not wonder it hurts. When turning, the pain is like someone grabbing your leg with two hands and squeezing really hard... from the inside. When not turning, the pins throb and pulse and generally complain. I also get cramps and pins and needles if I lie wrong in bed, which is lovely.
Here's the day one of turning photo:

and day 84 (today):

Hopefully the next couple of weeks before the next operation will just be a quiet time where I can relax and see family and friends and not have as much pain. And then lots of Oramorph at hospital, woo! ...ugh.
