Tomorrow I'll be in hospital again. Mr Calder is (hopefully) going to remove the frame and put a plaster cast on. I say hopefully because he said last time he'd bone graft from my hip and then when I was under the anaesthetic he changed his mind and didn't. Whatever happens, something will be taken off. The popular vote for the colour of cast (if I am conscious and there is a choice other than white) has been decided as purple. Don't be disappointed if I can't have that though!
I've been on antibiotics again this week, just finished last night, because of yet another infection in the big heel pin. It doesn't seem to have helped very much though, despite the swab we sent to the GP that came back as saying it was definitely sensitive to flucloxacillin. At least it won't be in there tomorrow, and I will ask Mr Calder to give me a nice dose of antibiotics intravenously.
Today I've already spoken to pre-admissions to answer the last few questions as required so I'm all set from that perspective. Just have to make sure the bag is all packed tonight and then it's a 4am wake-up to shower before setting off. Can't wait...
