Swimming

I went swimming today!! It was brilliant! I'm up in Manchester for the weekend to visit the Rainy City Roller Girls (the roller derby league I'm a fan of) as they had a big game on yesterday against Dublin Roller Girls and the Lincolnshire Bomber Roller Girls. Tonight they had their usual practice at a nice gym on the outskirts of Greater Manchester, which happens to also have a swimming pool so afterwards a few of us went to have a splash about. I managed three and a half lengths of the pool with a bit of doing bicycle legs in between and was really tired out! I used three half-litre sports water bottles (the rollergirls were given them by the gym as a sort of sponsorship thing) for buoyancy attached with zip ties and it worked really well, achieved neutrality at least, but I think next time I'd want four of them so I definitely knew I wasn't sinking.

All in all, a success! Looking forward to the next time (though I'm still not sure about the bikini!)
