Another clinic letter

I had an appointment, so there has been a letter.
It's not being too painful today, though I'm trying out having just one dihydracodeine in the morning and evening. Mind you, probably should have some more paracetamol to balance it out.
I reviewed Ms F. once more in clinic today. She has had 1 episode of pin site infection in the central wire. This has been treated well with oral antibiotics. The 'apex anterior deformity' is where the regenerate is bowing, making the bone a bit curvy instead of straight. Mr Calder wasn't too bothered by it as it should still be strong enough without needing to do anything about it.
There appears to be an apex anterior deformity in the mid diaphysis which may be due to the distal tibia being pulled posteriorly by the calf muscle. On review of the x-rays this is not significantly increased over the last 6 weeks.
Good bone regenerate seen on the x-ray. Docking site is in a good position.
Plan - To continue with knee exercises to gain extension. Further x-ray in 6 weeks time.
With kind regards
Mr Peter Calder
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
